7 people, including a baby and child have been injured in a two car crash in Burnham.

A St John Spokeswoman told Chris Lynch St John responded to a motor vehicle incident in Burnham after being notified at 10:53.

The accident happened at intersection with Kivers Road and Aylesbury Road.

Five patients suffered moderate injuries and two patients with serious injuries.

All patients transported to Christchurch hospital.
