Armed police are searching a house in Linwood following reports of a man being seen with a gun.

The incident is on the corner of Hereford Street and England Street.

An eyewitness said surrounding streets were cordoned off just after 1pm.

The police Armed Offenders Squad are also at the scene.

A police spokeswoman said police are in the process of clearing the address.

“Police are speaking with a man and a woman at the address.”

“There is no indication of any injuries and no firearm has been located at this stage.”
