Christchurch police are appealing for any sightings of 12-year-old Georgia who has been reported missing in Christchurch.

Police say Georgia left her Bryndwr home on foot at 3pm Saturday and has not yet returned.

She is wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, a black beanie and may be carrying a navy blue Puma backpack.

Police say Georgia has limited communication ability and may be lost in the area.

Her grandmother made a public plea on social media this evening saying her Georgia is autistic, so if members of the public see her, they’re being encouraged to approach her gently as she will think she’s in trouble.

“She’s not in trouble, we just want her home safely”
