A woman will appear in court following the death of a baby at an Oxford house in August.
As first reported by chrislynchmedia.com, police were called to an Oxford address after a baby died on Monday 5 August.
A scene examination and a post-mortem examination has since been completed, and subsequent enquiries have led police to laying charges of ill-treatment of a child under 18, a police spokesman said.
The 37-year-old woman is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court today on charges of ill-treatment of a child under 18, and possessing methamphetamine utensils.
The baby’s dearth remains unexplained and enquiries are ongoing, a police spokesman said.
