Riverlution Café is opening

The Riverlution Café is opening this Saturday, 7 September, at the Richmond Community Garden. The café will serve delicious food and coffee, while supporting the community and local projects. Chairperson Hayley Guglietta said, “We’re thrilled to open the café and provide a place for people to connect. The launch will take place during the inaugural Riverlution Learning Day, running from 10 am to 2 pm, with workshops, mural painting, and more. Join us at 50 Vogel St, Richmond, for a fun day of learning and community spirit.

Fabulous Vintage market

 

Set on the front lawn of beautiful Avebury House. Our stallholders will have a great selection of vintage for you to search through, vinyl records, clothing, antiques, collectables, bric a brac, crystal, china, jewellery, furniture, upcycled items, books and men’s stuff to name a few! Delicious food stalls and coffee, of course! will be available to purchase. Why not grab a bite to eat and sit back and relax while listening to the awesome tunes of Jerry, our regular busker.
This is a rubbish free event, please take your rubbish home with you if you can.
This is a cash only event, the nearest ATM is on Stanmore Road. Please be aware the grass by the front gate, is reserved for those cars with mobility stickers. Alternative parking via Swanns Road, River Road, walk through the community garden ( admire all the hard work they do!) to get to Avebury House.
Your four legged friends are welcome on a leash.
The market starts at 10am, strictly stallholders only before this time. No sales will be made before 10am.

New Brighton Seaside Market Saturday from 10AM

Every Saturday, New Brighton’s pedestrian mall is filled with colour and creativity! Come down to the seaside and enjoy, live entertainment, great food, fresh produce, arts, crafts, jewellery and more. There’s also a bouncy castle and free face-painting for the littlies.

Weekly Saturday market, Seekers Mākete, is happening from 10am-3pm at the iconic Arts Centre featuring over 30 artisans and small local businesses offering art, fashion, candles, and delicious food.

Bulgarian Folk Dances

    

The invitation is to celebrate together our folklore exploring the specific musical rhythms of the Balkans embedded in ten Bulgarian dances – four courses for beginners and one for advanced with two dances each. They were selected to represent the folk regions of Bulgaria, but the musical travel around the country will bring us closer to our neighbours in the wider Balkan area. We hope you’ll challenge yourselves to learn more about our culture by joining the dancing group assembled too far away from our home region by the spirit which bounds us beyond any borders. 8 Sep 2024 3pm to 5pm Fendalton Community Centre

Peace Train

    

Welcoming Week is a time to celebrate our diverse communities throughout  New Zealand. This free, wheel-chair accessible event invites people of all ages to celebrate our city’s spirit of compassion, a lasting tribute to our collective response to adversityBe part of a unique experience that fosters connections and nurtures the values that bring us together as a community. You can find the Peace train chugging around a loop of the botanic gardens every sunny Sunday during the warmer months.This miniature train was gifted to the city of Christchurch by the Yusuf Islam Foundation following the 2019 terror attacks. All ages enjoy peacefully chugging along for free. Not only this is a great way to see the beautiful Botanic Gardens but also an opportunity to meet new people. We look forward to seeing you all there. Please note: we will meet you in front of Peacock Fountain at 10am on 8 September.
