The vehicle then fled north up Dyers Pass Road towards Christchurch, the police spokesperson said.

Police initiated a pursuit, following the vehicle towards Lyttelton, where tactical deflation devices were successfully deployed on Tunnel Road. After going through the tunnel, the vehicle came to a stop on State Highway 74.
Two people were taken into custody, and a search of the vehicle was carried out, where police located items stolen in the robbery.
An 18-year-old man is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow, Monday 31 March, on charges of failing to stop, driving a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, and two counts of aggravated robbery.
A 17-year-old is due to appear in the Christchurch Youth Court on charges related to the incident.
