A crash on State Highway 1/Bridge Street in Rakaia has left three people moderately injured and caused significant traffic delays.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of SH1 and Elizabeth Avenue just before 10:30 am after reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Police confirmed that three people sustained moderate injuries, and motorists have been advised to avoid the area while emergency crews attend the scene.

Diversions have been put in place, and Police are urging drivers to expect delays as the crash is cleared.
