Thousands of people have gathered at Hagley Park for Polyfest 2025, celebrating Christchurch’s vibrant Pacific cultures with a full day of performances and festivities.

The annual event features traditional music, dance, and cultural showcases from schools across the city, drawing large crowds of families and supporters.

An event organiser said they were thrilled with the turnout.

“It’s amazing to see the community come together to celebrate the talent, pride, and heritage of our Pacific cultures.”

The park was filled with the sound of drums, singing, and cheering as performers took to the stage in colourful costumes.

 

Food stalls offered a variety of traditional Pacific Island dishes, while market stalls sold handmade crafts and cultural items.
