Construction of Canterbury’s multi-use arena is continuing at pace, with its western stand now at full height.
The first of Te Kaha’s 40 radial trusses was installed just before Christmas, marking a new phase in the construction project.
The Christchurch City Council says four more radial trusses are being built on site and will be lifted into place by crane in the coming weeks.
The trusses are key pieces of structural support for the roof of the arena and work to build and install these will continue throughout 2024.
Within the western stand, framing is being installed along with services and the building lining.
The council says the project remains on track to open in 2026.
