Fire and Emergency crews have been kept busy across Christchurch today, responding to several weather-related call-outs.
This afternoon, they were called to a property in Cashmere where a tree had fallen onto a house.
Power lines were also brought down in Sumner, reportedly due to strong winds.
In Russley, a tree fell into a garage, while crews were also called to a school in Heathcote to secure a damaged roof.
Meanwhile, several trees have been uprooted in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, prompting council contractors to cordon off small sections of the area for safety.
MetService has forecast southerlies, strong at times, to continue through the evening.
