Hi everyone Tony Hill, I’m the District Commander for Canterbury Police.
Just a quick message from me to wish you all the Merry Christmas and a couple of other quick messages.
Please be safe on our roads this year. I know everyone will be travelling between places that you want to go to.
Just remember that if you’re getting tired and fatigue is starting to set in, then please stop and take a rest.
Fatigue is one of the biggest killers on our road and we want to make sure that everyone gets to the destination safely this year.
Please, no drinking and driving. Stay off your phones and everyone must wear a seatbelt in the car. That’s going to keep you safe as well.
Also want to remind you that this year, an particularly this time of year can put extra pressures on their families.
So things like reports of family harm can increase to just try and be kind to each other and,you know, just accept that this is a pressured time of year for people.
Other than that, I just want to wish you all a Merry Christmas and I hope it’s quiet
and this is what you will expect from it. And look forward to seeing you all in the new year.
