The SPCA is calling on the public to provide information following the release of shocking footage showing a man violently attacking a German Shepherd in Rolleston.

Disturbing security footage captured the man repeatedly striking and kicking the dog, leaving the animal yelping and whimpering in pain. The incident occurred on Thursday night, January 9, on Park Lane near Levi Park.

While the police initially handled the investigation, the SPCA has since taken over as the lead agency. National Inspectorate Manager Alan Wilson told chrislynchmedia.com that the organisation is actively conducting enquiries into the matter.
