Award winners have been announced for the Canterbury Hospitality Awards, celebrating excellence across the region’s vibrant food and beverage industry.
The People’s Choice Award was claimed by Smokey T’s, a popular barbecue joint that has quickly become one of Christchurch’s most beloved dining spots.
Since opening its permanent outlet at 314 Cashel Street, Smokey T’s has seen tremendous success, often selling out due to high demand for its mouth-watering offerings.
The prestigious Supreme Establishment Award was awarded to Cellar Door, a wine bar located in the historic South Quad of the Christchurch Arts Centre.
Black Estate took home the award for Outstanding Restaurant, while the title of Outstanding Restaurant Manager was bestowed upon Laura Holcroft of Bar Yoku, recognising her leadership and dedication.
Hello Sunday was named Outstanding Cafe.
The award for Outstanding Street Food/Casual Dining was given to Smoke ‘n’ Barrel, a venture that began as a food truck before expanding into catering and establishing a permanent restaurant in Woolston.
Cory Evans of The Last Word was recognised as the Outstanding Bartender.
The Last Word, situated on the historic New Regent Street in Christchurch, is a whisky and cocktail lounge celebrated for its hand-picked selection of fine whiskies, craft beers, boutique wines, and crafted cocktails.
