There’s been five smash and grab related incidents across Christchurch overnight and this morning.
Police responded to a ram-raid at a commercial premises on Port Hills Road, Hillsborough, around 12:40am.
A vehicle was used to gain entry.
A police spokesperson said the vehicle used was recovered at the scene.
Vape products were stolen, and the offenders fled in a white Mazda Demio.
“Enquiries are ongoing and a scene examination will be conducted.”
Then at 1AM, police responded to reports of a burglary of a commercial premises on Woodham Road.
Vape products were stolen.

Then police responded to reports of a burglary at Smith City on Tower Street around 5:20am, opposite the police station.
“It does not appear a vehicle was used to gain entry; a scene examination will be conducted, Enquiries are ongoing including determining what was stolen.”
A contractor at the scene, who saw the security footage, told Chris Lynch Media a group of youths smashed in a window and tried to grab appliances, with little success.
“You could tell they didn’t have a f***king clue. They seemed absolutely clueless.”
“They were smashing television screens for the sake of it realising they were too big to steal. It was a really weird thing to see.”
“They managed to steal dummy cellphones, which was rather fitting given they appeared to be dumb.”
Police received a report of a burglary at a commercial premises on Haswell Road at around 9am that occurred overnight.
“Enquiries are ongoing including determining what was stolen.”
Police also received reports of a burglary at a commercial premises on Hoon Hay Road, that occurred overnight.
The owner of that business told Chris Lynch Media it was the 6th time his business had been targeted.
He had even put metal bars across the front doors, but the youths just smashed the front windows.
