A self-proclaimed “paedophile catcher” turned Self-proclaimed “Pastor has been filmed intentionally interrupting a street performer in Christchurch’s central city.
The incident happened over the Easter weekend.
The video, which was uploaded by Twitter user Kelvin Morgan, shows Lincoln Russ holding a microphone, saying “I’ll be taking over because I’ve got a more important message today to share with everybody here in Christchurch.”
He then shouts into the microphone “I just want to let you know that Jesus loves you so much.”
The performer, known as “Sven from Sweden” walks over to Russ and urges him to wait until his show finishes, but Russ responds by saying, “I’m in the middle of my show bro.”
A concerned member of the public approaches Russ, attempting to reason with the “pastor.”
But Russ snaps back (on the microphone) “please don’t touch things that aren’t yours, just cause you don’t get your own way.”
Another member of the public tells Russ “if you’re a lover of god, do it the right way mate.”
The person filming the altercation, which was also posted to Russ’ Facebook page, admits “he’s like a loose cannon man.”
This is not the first time Russ has drawn criticism for his attention-seeking behaviour.
In January, he caused a stir in Wānaka after using a microphone and PA system to make claims about seeing “demons cast out of people.”
He was eventually shut down by members of the public after the police were called.
Two former followers have previously raised awareness of Russ’ conduct, warning others about his potentially damaging influence, particularly on vulnerable people.
Twitter user Kelvin Morgan wrote on Twitter “to those that wanted to show Sven some love by making a donation, you can do this by tipping as little as $6 here: https://busk.co/20835”
In the past Lincoln Russ has described himself as a “paedophile catcher” filming people he claimed were paedophiles creating a Facebook page until it was shut down.
