Residents in Belfast, Chaneys and Redwood have started their morning without electricity.

Power went out just after 7AM to at least 862 properties.

On the Orion website it said “unfortunately, we have an unplanned outage in this area, we have our field staff on the way to patrol and restore power as it is safe to do so.”

The cause of the outage was due to a cable fault.

By 8.30AM, power had been restored to most properties.
