Gang members have been arrested in properties across Christchurch today following four shootings over the weekend.
Police arrested several men in search warrants at the Tribesmen gang house on Tanner Street in Woolston, and at an address on Mathers Road, Hoon Hay.
In a statement, police said charges are being considered.
Earlier this morning, police raided properties in Wigram and in Kaiapoi this morning.
A Kaiapoi resident, who didn’t want to be named, said a man was arrested several houses down the street from her house.
“As police were escorting me to my car, I a topless man with “Tribesman tattoed across his back, and facial tattoos was being arrested.”
As first reported by Chris Lynch Media, police were called to properties on Hammond Place, Spreydon, and Gayhurst Road, Dallington, about 10.30pm on Friday; and Hammond Place, Spreydon, and Broadbent Street, Riccarton on Saturday between 10.30 and 11pm after the properties were shot at.
Detective Senior Sergeant Damon Wells said firearms were discharged towards properties in all cases. There were no injuries.
In one case, a property was wrongly targeted.
On Wednesday morning, Detective Senior Sergeant Wells said police executed warrants in Wigram and Kaiapoi.
“Police are speaking to several people in relation to these incidents and enquiries are ongoing.”
At 11AM police officers and detectives were still at the Wigram property.
A vehicle was being towed from the scene.
