Two people have been arrested following a police chase in Christchurch.
A police spokesman said they received a report of of a stolen vehicle sighted at 2:05PM.
The vehicle was spiked by police around 3:35PM.
“Police briefly pursued the vehicle but abandoned due to the nature of driving.
An eyewitness told Chris Lynch Media she saw a ute “screaming along” Bridle Path Road.
“The front wheel was very flat and it was very loud.”
Armed police surrounded the vehicle.
Another eyewitness said they saw a man being handcuffed at the scene.
Two people were taken into custody just before 4pm the police spokesman said.
The road was closed off for a short time but has since reopened.
