Police have released the name of the man killed in central Christchurch on Sunday evening.

He was 22-year-old local man Jordan Morris.

Jordan died after being fatally stabbed at the Christchurch City Mission, shortly after police were called there about 10pm.

In a statement police said “Police would like to extend their condolences to Jordan’s family, who are being supported at this difficult time.”

A 67-year-old man has been charged with his murder and is due to reappear in Christchurch High Court on 12 April.
