Police are investigating a spate of burglaries, including a ram raid in Christchurch and Selwyn overnight.
A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media four offenders smashed a window at a Waimairi Road convenience store, in Upper Riccarton at 1.40AM. The offenders stole a number of items.
“Police believe the offenders were travelling in a small white vehicle and are investigating whether the incident is linked to the burglary of a service station in Yaldhurst about 2am, and a ram raid at a West Melton service station about 2.15am.”
In all three incidents fog cannons were activated the police spokesman said.
Enquiries were ongoing and scene examinations were being carried out today. The offenders had not been caught and descriptions weren’t provided.
Police wanted to hear from from anyone with information about the incidents and members of the public could call 105 and reference the file number P058603811.
In another incident, thought to be unrelated, a store on Cashel Street was broken into between 5.30am and 7.15am.
Enquiries were under way to establish what was stolen, and to locate the person or people responsible the police spokesman said.
