Police are investigating an assault that occurred in a car park on Madras Street early this morning.

A witness told Chris Lynch Media at approximately 3:30am, a man was chased into the 24/7 clinic on Madras Street.

According to the witness, the clinic was  surrounded by a group of masked individuals for 20 to 30 minutes while the victim, staff, and a security guard remained inside until police arrived.

One person sustained injuries, though their condition is currently unknown.

Police are continuing their inquiries and are working to identify and speak with those involved.
