Rolleston police are appealing for witnesses following an assault on the side of State Highway 1 in Templeton on Sunday afternoon.

Police were called to the incident, involving parties known to each other, at around 3.40pm.

There were no serious injuries reported.

A 33-year-old man has been charged in relation to the assault, but police are continuing to seek further witnesses.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed an assault on the side of the road, or who might have dashcam or cellphone footage of it,” a police spokesperson said.
