Police detectives are still at the scene in Spreydon where a baby was found dead.
A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com emergency services were called to a property on Barrington Street around 2:35 pm today after reports of an unresponsive person.
“Sadly, despite receiving medical attention, the person has died. Police are in the initial stages of determining what happened.”
A significant police presence was at the property, which is part of a social housing complex.

Several police detectives were still at the address just after 5 pm.

Chris Lynch Media has been told the deceased was a nine month old.
A police spokeswoman said they weren’t able to confirm the age of the person at this stage.
Fire and Emergency services also responded to the incident, which was initially reported as a medical response.
Several distressed residents were speaking with police officers outside, while one man sat on the footpath.
