A person has died following a crash in Rangiora this morning.

Emergency services were called to Charles Upham Drive shortly after 7am after reports of a single-vehicle crash.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the person died at the scene.

A police spokesperson said, “Initial enquiries suggest this may have been a medical event. The death will be referred to the Coroner.”

A scene examination has been completed and the road has now reopened. Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
