A person has died following a serious crash on Charlton Siding Road in Waimumu, near Gore, on Saturday night.
Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle crash at around 10pm.
A police spokesperson said, “The sole occupant of the vehicle was located deceased at the scene.”
The road remained closed on Sunday morning while the Serious Crash Unit carried out a scene examination.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.
