Emergency services are at the scene of a paraglider crash on Christchurch’s Port Hills.
A police spokeswoman said police were made aware of the crash at 3:15pm.
Chris Lynch Media has been told by local residents the crash scene is near the Christchurch Gondola.
A St John ambulance is at the scene along with a Westpac rescue helicopter.
The paraglider crashed in an area with steep terrain.
A St John spokeswoman said they responded with one ambulance, one manager, and one rapid response unit.
“Crews assessed and treated one patient who was airlifted to Christchurch hospital in a serious condition.”
