Members of the Richmond Community Garden have been left “disheartened” after two silkie chicks and their beloved mother were stolen overnight.
Operations Manager Morgane Honore told Chris Lynch Media they were stolen from Richmond Community Garden coop.
The garden was formed to rekindle a pre-earthquake vegetable haven adjacent to Avebury House and is run by volunteers.
Morgane said thieves would have grabbed them overnight while they were a sleep.
“This incident has left our community disheartened.
“We believe in the strength of community bonds and hope that, through awareness, we might recover our missing chickens.”
