The death of a North Canterbury father known for his warmth, generosity, and dedication to his children has prompted an outpouring of support from the local community.
Ndafunzwa Musesengwa was killed in a crash last Tuesday.
He was a beloved father of three and a familiar face in the region’s basketball circles, where he was often seen cheering from the sidelines.
He was remembered as a kind-hearted, hardworking man who brought energy and light to every room he entered.
North Canterbury Basketball said Musesengwa made a lasting impact on players, parents, and staff alike, describing him as “a pillar of strength for his three incredible children.”
In response to his passing, the organisation has launched a Givealittle page to help his family with funeral costs and other immediate needs, and to ensure his children can continue pursuing the dreams their father championed.
“Above all, he was a devoted dad, and his greatest joy came from watching his children thrive,” the page said.
The campaign has already raised more than $1,000 and will remain open until 19 May.
