A woman has been taken into custody and a firearm seized following an incident at a rural Ohoka property last night.
A police spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com around 4pm police responded to a property on Mill Road following reports that a woman, believed to be in possession of a firearm, had made threats towards a person at a neighbouring property.
Police were armed as a precaution, cordoning the property and road off to ensure the safety of those in the area.
“Voice appeals were conducted, and around 8:55pm the woman was taken into custody.”
Noone was injured in the incident.
A 58-year-old woman is due to appear in the Christchurch District Court on charges related to the incident today.
