National’s Deputy Leader and Finance Spokesperson Nicola Willis is hosting a public meeting in Christchurch this week to discuss the cost of living crisis.

The meeting will also be hosted by National Party Candidate for Christchurch Central, Dale Stephens.

Stephens campaigned during the last election for Christchurch Central, but lost to Labour’s Duncan Webb.

In a press release, Willis said “the cost of living crisis has made it too hard for New Zealand workers to get ahead.”

She said “instead of giving Kiwis much-deserved relief, the Labour Government has continued to introduce taxes to feed an addiction to spending.

The public meeting will take place at Transitional Cathedral on Thursday 23rd of March at 6:30pm.

Meanwhile, according to the latest Talbot Mills poll, the preferred prime minister rating for National Leader Christopher Luxon has reached a new low of 23 percent.

This represents a decline of 4 points from last month’s poll and is one point lower than his previous worst performance of 24 percent in September and October of last year.

The preferred prime minister rating for Chris Hipkins continues to rise, reaching 39 percent, which is an increase of four points compared to the previous poll.
