Police have released the names of the two women who died in a crash on State Highway 1 in Greta Valley on December 19.
They were Lu-Yao Lin from China and Siriyakorn Sovitayasakul from Thailand, both aged 28.
The women were in New Zealand on working holiday visas at the time of the crash.
Emergency services responded to the two-vehicle crash near the Hurunui River bridge.
NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) said the crash occurred about 2 kilometres north of Stonyhurst Road.
Police said their thoughts are with the victims’ families and loved ones overseas, as well as their friends and colleagues in New Zealand.
The circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
