Police are investigating after a man turned up at Christchurch hospital last night with a gunshot wound.

A police spokeswoman told chrislynchmedia.com at 9.50pm, officers were called to Christchurch Hospital where a man presented with an apparent gunshot injury.

Chris Lynch Media understands the man had two bullets in his skull and fragments in his shoulder and sternum,  but was able to talk to emergency staff about what had happened.

 The police spokeswoman said his injuries were not life-threatening, and police were making enquiries to establish what occurred.

 At this time, no further information is available, the spokeswoman said.
