Man found dead at a commercial premises in Hornby

A man has been found dead at a commercial premises on Carmen Road, Hornby today.

A police spokesman said emergency services responded to the address at around 12:40 pm.

The spokesman told chrislynchmedia.com that emergency services were called to the premises after receiving “a report at around 12:40 pm that one person was in need of medical assistance.”

St John said they were notified of the incident and sent two ambulances, one rapid response unit, and an operations manager.

WorkSafe has been advised.

In an email to staff, management said, “I am writing to inform you that, unfortunately, there has been a fatality at our Humes Hornby Production site today.

Emergency services are currently responding to the incident. We are working closely with the Police and WorkSafe to gather more information.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members and team during this time. I will share more information as we know more.”

Humes Pipeline Systems Ltd is a division of Fletcher Building.

Police will make enquiries into the circumstances of the death on behalf of the Coroner, the spokesman said.
