A man has died following a workplace incident in Harewood this morning.

It was reported to emergency services at around 9.15am, a police spokesman said. 

Chrislynchmedia.com understands the man died after a tyre exploded at Smith Crane and Construction near Johns Road.

It’s understood the victim was on-site to repair a flat tyre and was using forklift when the incident occurred.

A St John spokesman said they responded with an ambulance, a rapid response unit, and an operations manager.

WorkSafe said it had been notified of the accident and was investigating. 

Police will be making enquiries on behalf of the Coroner, the police spokesman said.
