The Hornby Rotary Club has celebrated its 4,000th meeting this week.

The club opened in 1962 and has continued to serve the Hornby community through many projects, the most recent of these being the driving force behind the Hydrotherapy Pool in the Matatiki Hornby Centre.

To help celebrate this milestone on Wednesday evening, Dave McKissock, the new District Governor of Rotary District 9999 which encompasses the South Island, joined the meeting and shared his vision for the 2024-25 Rotary Year.

McKissock also presented the club with the District Change Maker Award trophy which was recently awarded to the club at the District Changeover event.

This award was recognition by the district for the work the club did for their community in leading the pool fundraising campaign.
