Police investigators remain in the Innes Road, Mairehau area today as they continue a homicide investigation following the death of a man last night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Damon Wells said police are working hard to determine the circumstances of the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased. We know this will be a difficult time for them, and we’re committed to finding answers,” he said.
Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area as officers conduct further enquiries.
Police have already spoken to several people who were in the area at the time but are appealing for more witnesses.
“We’re looking to speak to anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious on Innes Road between 8pm and 9:15pm on Sunday, 9 March,” Wells said.
