Have you seen any superheroes out and about shaking buckets today?
It is Heroes for Heart Kids Week so there are plenty of people dressed up as superheroes throughout Christchurch raising awareness and money for the charity.
Every day in New Zealand a child is diagnosed with a heart condition, of which there is no cure.
Heart Kids NZ is a not-for-profit organisation that provides support services to the children, teens, young adults, adults and family living with a childhood heart condition. They are the only national organisation in New Zealand dedicated to supporting heart kids through life.
Hannah, who has a child with a heart condition said, “Heart Kids NZ have been such a huge part of our journey, supporting us both at Starship and also while we’re home in our community. We’re so grateful to them!”
The appeal is being held Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September. Members of the public can also text “HERO” to 2427 to make an instant $3 donation.
Volunteers will be out and about collecting here.
