A commercial helicopter has helped police catch a person who failed to stop for officers in Christchurch on Saturday night.
A police spokesman told Chris Lynch Media police received multiple complaints from around 5:50pm of reckless driving in Christchurch linked to the same car.
“Police did not pursue the vehicle, but maintained observation with the assistance of a commercial helicopter” the spokesman said.
An eyewitness said he saw a white Mazda sedan getting chased by multiple police cars and a chopper at around 8.30PM in Barrington.
The police spokesman said the vehicle was located on Tram Road just off Main North Road, and one person was taken into custody with the assistance of a Police Dog Unit.
