A fire at a popular New Brighton fish and chip shop is thought to be accidental.
Two fire appliances were called to the New Brighton Burger Bar on Shaw Ave at 1.30pm.
By the time they arrived, the property was well ablaze.
Resident Rebecca Lee lives across the road and said she was walking past when the smoke alarm went off.

“I looked inside from across the road and saw small flames.
The fish and chip shop and dairy next door were closed but Dominos was open so I ran inside and told the worker to get out.
The worker then ran to his car to move it out of the way of the smoke.
A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said the fire was accidentally started.
No one was injured.
