Operating for nearly 25 years and offering delicious cuisine while travelling through the central city streets, the Christchurch Tramway Restaurant is a unique local icon.
The team on board the vintage tram offer gourmet dining with the menu package including a glass of bubbles, canape starter, entrée, main, dessert and tea or coffee. There’s also an optional wine pairing package featuring New Zealand wine to match each course, which is a popular choice.
The menu changes seasonally and features local produce. Canterbury lamb, Tai Tapu venison, Akaroa salmon and Canter Valley duck are regularly featured in the dishes on board with bespoke desserts created by local Sweet Soul Patisserie.
Guests have a choice of three entrée, four main and three dessert options, and the beverage list offers wine from around New Zealand and Christchurch craft beer along with spirits and soft drinks.
You’ll spot visiting Kiwis and international guests on board, as well as plenty of Christchurch locals.

In the busy summer months the Tramway Restaurant operates twice daily with an additional service departing at 5pm on selected dates or on request for groups. The tram travels around the central city tram tracks during service, offering changing scenery and a unique way to view Christchurch by
night.

Cathedral Junction at 7:30pm daily (closed public holidays).
