Rolleston is gearing up to welcome the holiday season in style with a Christmas Parade and community fun day out on December 1, 2024.

The event promises a packed day of festive fun, music, cultural performances, and, of course, a visit from Santa himself.

Organisers said the event is designed to celebrate and unite the community in the spirit of Christmas.

The day kicks off at 11 am with lively cultural performances showcasing the diverse music, dance, and art of the community and market behind Te Ara Ātea (Rolleston Library).

“This isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of who we are as a community,” said the organisers. “We’re thrilled to bring everyone together in the holiday spirit.”

The bustling marketplace, featuring local stall holders and food vendors, offers something for everyone, from holiday sweets to savory treats.

Visitors are encouraged to bring their picnic blankets, settle in with family and friends, and enjoy the day’s festivities.

“There’s nothing like enjoying Christmas with a picnic and the company of loved ones,” organisers said, inviting locals to embrace the outdoor, community atmosphere.

The main event, the Santa Parade, begins at 2 pm.

The Rolleston Christmas Parade wraps up at 4 pm, providing a day filled with laughter, community spirit, and festive cheer.
