Multiple fire and emergency crews are at the scene of a large commercial building fire on Colombo St, near Cass Street.

Fire and Emergency was alerted to the fire at 4.25am.

 

 

 

“We ask people to please avoid the area while our teams fight the fire.”

 

 

“The fire is emitting a large amount of smoke, which is drifting to the west. If you are in the immediate area, please keep your windows and doors closed, and stay inside if possible to avoid being impacted by the smoke.”

Surrounding roads have been blocked off including Colombo Street, Cass Street and Durham Street, a Fire and Emergency spokesman said.
