Darfield is gearing up for a spectacular evening of festive fun with the Darfield Mega Night Market, set to take place on Friday, 20th December at the Darfield High School grounds from 2 PM to 9 PM.

The Mega Market is an expansion of the much-loved Darfield Night Market, which typically runs on Saturdays from 4 PM to 8 PM along South Terrace.

The event was the brainchild of Sarah-Amy Swift, owner of the Mug N Bean coffee cart, who saw an opportunity to bring the community together after transforming an empty lot into a thriving hub for food trucks and local vendors.

“Our market has been so popular, we decided to host a Mega Market to bring even more people together for some festive cheer,” Swift said.

The Mega Night Market promises something for everyone, making it the perfect place for families, friends, and holiday shoppers. Visitors can look forward to:

•30 food trucks offering a variety of cuisines

•Over 20 unique stalls, perfect for finding last-minute, affordable Christmas gifts

•Live performances featuring talented local artist Karra Rhodes, performing original songs and covers from a curtain-sider truck

•Fun activities, including bouncy castles, gem panning, mini golf, and face painting

•Meet-and-greet opportunities with beloved characters like Spiderman and princesses

“The aim of the market is to bring the community together from far and wide,” Swift said. “It’s been a huge success so far, and we want to put Darfield on the map while showcasing amazing local talent like Karra Rhodes.”

This one-off event will be held at Darfield High School to accommodate the expanded lineup. Regular Saturday markets will continue as usual on South Terrace.
