A property in Dallington has been cordoned off by police overnight.
A police spokeswoman said officers were called to Gayhurst Road about 10.30pm after a report of shots fired.
There were no injuries.
Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident were ongoing the police spokeswoman said.
A resident opposite the scene said he heard gunshots.
“I went outside to look and saw nothing then 10 minutes later I heard a lot of yelling outside and it was armed police trying to get into the house.”
Another resident further down the road said he heard gun shots being fired.
The property cordoned off is one of two units.
