Police are investigating a violent robbery at a commercial premises on Lincoln Road in Hillmorton.

A Police spokesperson said officers were called to the store around 10pm on Saturday after two men with face coverings entered the premises.

The men assaulted a customer who was inside at the time and threw objects at two employees.

They targeted alcohol bottles and threatened staff with a weapon, believed to be a knife, before fleeing the scene on foot.

“Thankfully, the customer and two employees were uninjured.

However they, and the other customers in the store, are understandably shaken by the incident. They are being provided with support,” the Police spokesperson said.

There will be an increased police presence in the area while a scene examination is carried out.
