Christchurch police say they’re making ‘good progress’ following claims of a “targeted assault, carjacking and aggravated robbery in Ilam.
A Christchurch community Facebook user offered a cash reward for information leading to the arrests of those involved in the alleged crimes on Tudor Avenue near Waimairi Road shops after midnight on Friday, April 26th.
One of the victims was a “first-year student” while there were at least three male offenders.
“If you believe you have information that could aid in prosecution, police want to hear from you,” the post urged.
The post also mentions a missing single-axle aluminum cage trailer with registration 136P3 and requests any available camera footage depicting three men or a silver Nissan Navara FMG21 towing an empty cage trailer between 12:00 AM and 2:00 AM.
Potential witnesses with relevant information or footage of the incident were encouraged to submit details at 105.police.govt.nz or call 105, referencing case number 240419/3953.
A cash reward was being offered from the victims due to the high value of the items stolen.
While a police spokesperson confirmed to Chris Lynch Media there was an ongoing investigation into the incident, they clarified that it occurred on April 19th.
Despite being unable to provide further details, the spokesperson said “good progress” was being made in the case.
