Bus users in Christchurch are being advised to plan ahead this Friday, with several services set to be disrupted while drivers attend a union meeting.
Metro said some services will pause between 8.20am and 2.30pm, with affected trips finishing at the central city bus interchange before resuming later in the afternoon.
The routes impacted include:
•Route 3 (Airport & Sheffield Crescent to Sumner)
•Route 8 (Airport to Lyttelton Port)
•Route 140 (Russley to Mt Pleasant)
•Route 155 (Eastgate to Lyttelton – Shopper Service)
While these services will see interruptions, school bus routes will continue as usual, and transport operator Ritchies has arranged to maintain operations for all other Metro services throughout the day.
In a public notice, Metro encouraged passengers to consider alternate transport options or use different routes during the disruption window.
“If you plan to travel on these services during the affected hours, we recommend allowing extra time or seeking alternative options,” Metro said.
The organisation apologised for the inconvenience and advised commuters to check the latest updates before travelling.
