A body has been found near the Avon River early this morning.

A witnesses said as they were driving to work they noticed that Cambridge Terrace was blocked off with police and an ambulance.

A police spokeswoman said police left the scene at 8.40AM.

There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
