Christchurch Attractions has partnered with the Salvation Army for a second consecutive year to collect blankets and other bedding to support vulnerable members of the local community this winter.

On Friday, 12 July, a Christchurch Tram will be stationed in Cathedral Square from 11 am to 2 pm to receive donations of blankets, duvets, and comforters.

In exchange for their generosity, donors will receive a complimentary adult Christchurch Tram ticket, valued at $40.

The collected items will be distributed by the Salvation Army to those in need of extra warmth during the colder season.

Marty Byrne, CEO of Christchurch Attractions, said, “We are delighted to be working with the Salvation Army for a second consecutive year for such an important cause.

The winter season is particularly severe in Christchurch overnight, so being able to support our community with donated blankets and other warm bedding is a great way to help those in need. We hope to see plenty of local Cantabrians joining us in Cathedral Square to support this fantastic initiative.”

The organisations request that donated bedding be either new or freshly laundered. They express their gratitude for all contributions.
