A store attendant has been attacked in an aggravated robbery Monday night.

A police spokeswoman told Chris Lynch Media police received a report of a robbery at a store in Linwood at around 7:41pm.

It was the Pinoy ASIAN MART, Filipino Grocery Store.

The police spokeswoman said one person is reported to have entered the store on Worcester Street and demanded cash.

“The offender assaulted a staff member and then left the store.”

The staff member has gone to hospital for a medical assessment by St John Ambulance.

The offender is in custody.

Police have blocked off entry to the store using emergency police tape.

Two officers were still outside the premises at 9pm.
